Impact Design Lab

You can help impactful ideas take root in the world in the studio’s Impact Design Lab! In our Applebaum Impact Design Fellowship and Founders program for social innovators, you can develop and launch early-stage prototypes using business knowledge, design tools, and research.

Impact Studio for Local Business (ISLB)

The Detroit Neighborhood Entrepreneurs Program (DNEP) +Impact Studio for Local Business began in Summer 2020 as an emergency pilot program, bringing U-M undergraduate students together to design and build a post-COVID resource bank for small businesses to pivot operations.

Workshops & Events

The +Impact Studio regularly hosts interactive workshops and speakers working at the intersection of design, business, and impact. Events include Faculty Research for Impact (FR4I) workshops, each based on a UN Sustainable Development goal, and other design for impact experiences, and fireside chats.
